Due to Singapore's little land space, much of our food is imported. Local fish farms supply ~10% of our local seafood.
Meet one of the local farmers, Dragonwana, trying to keep Singapore's food sustainability going. This farm to table tour will teach you the ins and outs of fish farming (breeding, feeding, harvesting), and how to grow plants. Dragonwana rears 2 main fishes for consumption: Jade Perch & Empurau
You'll also get a sneak peek at their Arowana farm, and learn about why the fish is so highly prized in Asia.
A great outing for those interested in know where your food comes from!
For lunch, you'll prepare your own Jade Perch and cook it outdoors to enjoy with your family or friends.

1000 - Learn about fruit tree farming, and how to graft buds at home
1030 - Break. Question and answer time
1045 - Fish hatchery tour - Identify empurau and see the breeding process
1115 - Arowana showroom tour - History of fish, maintenance, folklore and valuation of these treasured fish
1145 - Prepare your Jade Perch for lunch (all cooking materials will be provided)
